I have a picture of my home i would like to put into an oil painting. I have a few photos to send, would the artist capture the essence of the photo and straighten out the picture where needed.

"Capture the essence" is considered vague and unspecific instruction. When providing instructions please be specific and objective in the words you choose. If you want things to be straightened out be specific, as what you have in mind may be completely different from what someone else has in mind when looking at the photos.
