if I order a 48" x 48" oil painting can I request 4" unpainted canvas border so I can stretch it myself onto stretcher bars. Also can I request the canvas to be 12 oz. How are the paintings usually shipped? Flat? Framed? Rolled up in a tube? I would like to request Leilani from Carlsbad. Will I be able to communicate with her directly?

Yes, just inform your artist with your request and usually our paintings are shipped rolled in a tube but you can also have it framed and if you want to request for a specific artist you may do so by placing your order then send an email to our support team indicating that you want to request for a specific artist.
